Elaine Grolla is an associate professor at the Linguistics Department at the University of Sao Paolo and a productivity researcher at CNPq. She received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Connecticut (EUA) in 2005. She was a post doc researcher at the University of Sao Paolo (2006) and at the University of Maryland, USA (2014-2015). She is the founder and coordinator of LEAL/USP - Laboratory of Language Acquisition Studies, where she conducts research on the development of syntactic and semantic aspects of Brazilian Portuguese as a first language.
Her line of research is Studies of the processes of acquisition of languages
